Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for everyone who has died serving in the American armed forces. In 2000, President Bill Clinton began a tradition for observance on Memorial Day at 3 pm. At that time our nation observes a moment of silence to "remember and reflect on the sacrifices made by so many to provide freedom for all".
